Thermodynamics' innovations in design and product development are a critical part of the service it provides when working closely with its customers' material managers and in-house engineers. Thermodynamics holds numerous design patents and can boast that its engineers designed the AIAG-approved returnable pallet now extensively used in the automotive industry for the shipment of fasteners. As a result, Thermodynamics is proud to be a Tier 1 supplier to several automotive companies. Thermodynamics operates facilities in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and is an ISO 9001 certified company.

In January 2000, Shan Industries, LLC acquired Thermodynamics from Tyco International and is now a certified woman-owned business.
